Brief History of Colorado Springs
1806: Army Lieutenant Zebulon Pike became the first American to encounter and note the ‘Grand Peak.’ His attempt to climb the peak failed due to winter conditions; however, his published reports would attach his name to what would become ’Pike’s Peak - America’s Mountain.’
1859: Prospector George A. Jackson discovered the first notable gold vein in Idaho Springs, CO. His secret was blown after paying for mining supplies in gold dust. With that, the ‘Pikes Peak Gold Rush‘ began!

1871: Colorado Springs was found in by General William Jackson Palmer as a resort escape and was coined ‘Little London’ due to the abundance of English tourist.
